À La Rose, launched in 2014, is Maison Francis Kurkdjian's rose soliflore for women, a composition built to showcase the note itself rather than bury it under other accords. Perfumer Francis Kurkdjian pairs Bulgarian Damascena rose with Turkish rose and a citrusy bergamot-lemon opening, finished with a soft, musky cedarwood base. The fragrance draws its inspiration from Vigée-Le Brun's famous portrait of Marie Antoinette.
It's a fresh, powdery rose rather than a jammy or overtly sweet one, closer to a rose garden than a rose dessert.
