Bois Impérial is a luminous woody-aromatic built almost entirely around akigalawood, an upcycled woody molecule that smells like polished cedar, pepper and clean musk.
Created by celebrated perfumer Quentin Bisch for French niche house Essential Parfums in 2020, it pairs that signature wood with green basil and earthy vetiver for a scent reviewers call “a stunning balance of clarity, raw earthiness and elegant restraint.” It has become one of the most-cloned woody fragrances of the decade.
